OKC is accepting applications for a full-time Geoenvironmental Engineer or Geoscientist to work out of one of our offices in North America. We require a competent and self-motivated person who would be responsible for the following:

Design and manage field monitoring programs for reclaimed watersheds in the oil sands mining industry or other mine waste reclamation projects;
Install and maintain vadose zone field instruments for monitoring the performance of reclaimed watersheds and/or mine waste cover systems;
Perform QA/QC checks on data captured from field monitoring systems and interpret data through preparation of performance monitoring reports;
Run and interpret output from numerical models such as VADOSE/W or SEEP/W; and
Prepare various reports such as records of installation, field monitoring reference manuals, and modelling reports.

The successful applicant for this position will have a M.Sc. degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural/Bioresource Engineering, or a B.Sc. degree in Soil Science, and a minimum of two years experience in the fields of earth science, mining, hydrology, hydrogeology, and/or project management. Experience with installation and maintenance of Campbell Scientific equipment would be a definite asset. Applicants must also have strong written and oral communication skills and extensive experience with MS Word and Excel.

The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate, and takes into consideration the higher cost of living in Fort McMurray.
